ATA are working with the world's largest Automotive group, Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK) who are looking to recruit an experienced manufacturing engineer for their growing team in Burnaston, Derby. About the Role

Toyota's manufacturing engineers play a critical role in ensuring their production operations with the body in white run efficiently. Although varied and ever-changing, responsibilities sit within two main areas.

Part of the role is to deal with mass production issues, working with the maintenance and production teams to support the production lines in responding to complex issues:

1. Investigations and countermeasures.
2. Process improvement.
3. Completing root cause analysis and using problem-solving tools such as Fishbone, 5 WHYs, Six Sigma.
4. Coaching and education of team members.
5. Gaining consensus from the team and wider group.

The second part of the role is related to managing projects of various sizes and budgets:

1. Installation and modification of equipment.
2. New vehicle introduction & everything that comes with that.
3. Line changeover.
4. New line introduction.
5. Process introduction.
6. New system integration.
7. Energy reduction aiming to reach carbon neutrality.

Further responsibilities include:

1. Working collaboratively with other Toyota sites across Europe to share best practices and contribute to ongoing kaizen activities focused on operational and process improvements.
2. Working within the TMUK supply chain to improve and resolve quality and production difficulties.

About You

To be considered for the manufacturing engineer role, you should have experience within the following:

1. Experience working within a high-volume manufacturing environment (Ideal).
2. Self-starter with the ability to manage complex caseloads, prioritise work and deliver on projects within strict deadlines.
3. Experience with new process and product introduction.
4. Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently where required.
5. A mind-set for continuous improvement, striving to always be better.
6. Qualified within an engineering discipline 2:1 or above.
