Manufacturing Engineer, Poole, up to £45,000pa

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in optimising production processes, improving quality and efficiency throughout the manufacturing cycle. Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Oversee new product introduction, establishing efficient production methods and providing guidance to design and production teams.
  • Implement structured problem-solving techniques to resolve production-related challenges.
  • Assist with cost reduction initiatives and introduce innovative processes, techniques, and solutions.
  • Train and mentor operators on production procedures and best practices.
  • Prepare estimates and manage costs related to job functions.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with both internal colleagues and external suppliers/customers.
  • Actively participate in Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis efforts to identify and address underlying issues.
  • Identify and implement advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Analyse and plan workflow, space utilisation, and equipment placement to optimise manufacturing efficiency.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs to ensure production equipment remains operational.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturing (DfM) advice to the Engineering team.

Background

The successful Manufacturing Engineer will:

  • Be experienced with modern manufacturing processes.
  • Have exposure to Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Be able to demonstrate achievements of improving processes and quality within a manufacturing environment.
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to work alongside a range of disciplines and promote a positive team environment.
  • Be highly organised, capable of managing concurrent and often competing priorities.
  • Having knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks would be beneficial.
