Job description

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be recruiting for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of a leading Lancashire based business who specialise in design, production and assembly of large steel frameworks and structures.

In the role of Lean Manufacturing Engineer you will be able to think creatively in order to deliver on multiple bespoke projects, ensuring efficiency, high quality and on time delivery.

  • Lead projects in process improvement, new equipment, facilities, safety etc. including development of the business case, financial budgets, resource management, timelines, communication and reporting
  • Research new equipment, systems, and innovation within the market for potential investment
  • Ability to observe, research and present findings concisely
  • To respectfully challenge where you suspect stakeholders may be asking for things which are above and beyond the core requirements of the project scope
  • Develop a Lean Manufacturing culture within Production teams and the wider business
  • Guide teams through process changes and coordinate the deployment of new systems on site
  • Control & reduce costs in the factory by continuously challenging the methods of manufacture
  • Coaching, training & mentoring production teams on Lean methodology, structured daily management and KPI’s, ensuring improvement actions are in place when required

Educational background required

  • Hold an Engineering Qualification (HNC, HND etc) a degree would be an advantage

Job related experience required

  • Possess a general understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the core business
  • Lean/CI experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments/priorities and achieve results

Any other skills / knowledge required

  • Be able to build a strong network across the business and be a positive influence for change within both the operational and management teams
  • Ability to motivate teams and lead change at all levels of the organisation
  • To possess a degree of resilience and empathy when leading teams to ensure the objectives are achieved but team engagement and ownership are still key
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, including stakeholder management
