Job description

Our client, a manufacturer who buys in components and carries out final assembly activities to build a finished product, seeks to appoint a Manufacturing Engineer. The appointed Manufacturing Engineer will have completed an engineering-focused qualification, understand BOMs and engineering drawings, have good knowledge of build processes, be passionate about reducing waste and streamlining production processes, and have a basic knowledge of lean and continuous improvement.

This opportunity would suit a multi-faceted engineer currently working as a Process Engineer, Production Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineer looking for a step up in their career.


Manufacturing Engineer - Role and Responsibilities

  1. Identify and implement improvement projects to reduce costs whilst increasing output.
  2. Review and make improvements to standard processes and operating procedures.
  3. Specific focus on spotting bottlenecks in production lines, reducing process times, and eliminating scrap material/waste.
  4. Good understanding of lean and continuous improvement activities.

Manufacturing Engineer - Skills and Abilities

  1. Degree/HND qualified in engineering or equivalent.
  2. Background in a final assembly production environment.
  3. Competent all-rounder with knowledge of quality, projects, and production/process engineering.
  4. Previous experience of process improvement methodologies and at least three years experience in a Manufacturing Engineer style role.
  5. Excellent lean and continuous improvement knowledge.
