Job Description

Principal Manufacturing Engineer

My client is an established global manufacturer of large engineered-to-order equipment supplying throughout EMEA from their Droitwich, UK site.

The Principal Manufacturing Engineer is a critical function to create, deliver and implement improvements within the manufacturing facility.

Extensive experience in a similar manufacturing environment is essential; fabrication, structural steel, skid mounted plant, welding.

The Role

  1. Drive process improvements, business transformations, and implement modern techniques and tooling/fixtures.
  2. Evaluate and improve quality control processes, production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines, and waste management.
  3. Ensure compliance.
  4. Review and calculate costs.
  5. Plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment placement to maximize manufacturing efficiency using MRP/ERP.
  6. Coordinate maintenance services.

Hours: 38 hours pw, flexible working, core hours 0930-1530

Requirements

  1. Highly experienced Principal or Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
  2. Key experience leading DFA, DFM, PFMEA.
  3. Background in engineered to order (ETO) / fabrication & assembly environment, structural steel.
  4. Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt).
  5. Strong systems background in MRP/ERP, project management.
  6. AutoCAD/Solidworks would be an advantage.

  1. Salary to £47K - £53K.
