Job Description
Principal Manufacturing Engineer
My client is an established global manufacturer of large engineered-to-order equipment supplying throughout EMEA from their Droitwich, UK site.
The Principal Manufacturing Engineer is a critical function to create, deliver and implement improvements within the manufacturing facility.
Extensive experience in a similar manufacturing environment is essential; fabrication, structural steel, skid mounted plant, welding.
The Role
- Drive process improvements, business transformations, and implement modern techniques and tooling/fixtures.
- Evaluate and improve quality control processes, production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines, and waste management.
- Ensure compliance.
- Review and calculate costs.
- Plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment placement to maximize manufacturing efficiency using MRP/ERP.
- Coordinate maintenance services.
Hours: 38 hours pw, flexible working, core hours 0930-1530
Requirements
- Highly experienced Principal or Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
- Key experience leading DFA, DFM, PFMEA.
- Background in engineered to order (ETO) / fabrication & assembly environment, structural steel.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt).
- Strong systems background in MRP/ERP, project management.
- AutoCAD/Solidworks would be an advantage.
Package
- Salary to £47K - £53K.
