The Role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our highly innovative team with the focus being on work study and process improvement through capturing site processes. Candidates must be prepared to travel to sites throughout the UK.

Key responsibilities

  1. Conduct time studies of existing processes across site and factory
  2. Review and optimise current process using DMAIC methodology
  3. Analyse data captured to identify bottlenecks, wasteful practices, and overall inefficiencies
  4. Use of lean activities such as 6S, SMED and waste reduction to optimise processes
  5. Collaborate with the wider business to implement process changes aimed at improving productivity and reducing cost
  6. Document best practice using standard operating procedures, ensuring consistent build methodology and quality
  7. Provide operator training to ensure consistent roll-out of the new standard operating procedure
  8. Ongoing audits to ensure adoption of new processes

Skills & Experience

  1. Excellent time management and organisational skills with ability to plan workload across multiple locations and prioritise accordingly
  2. Strong analytical skills with ability to present complex data clearly, provide insights and recommend improvement initiatives
  3. Proficiency in time study methodologies, work measurement techniques, and process improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen
  4. Can use Microsoft Excel to a high standard and able to interrogate data and generate reports
  5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with individuals at all levels of the business
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced business
  7. Experience of manufacturing and installation processes

Qualifications:

  1. Complete Secondary Education
  2. IT literate (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  3. Manufacturing or Construction experience
  4. Lean experience (Kaizen, 6S, Poka Yoke, SMED, Ishikawa)
  5. Experience of ERP/MRP systems
