Job Details - An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our client in Clevedon.
My client is the world leader in developing and manufacturing abatement systems for the Semi-conductor industry, which affords employees access to potential opportunities worldwide. They are an environmental company, that enables clients to reduce their greenhouse gases which are produced when manufacturing micro-chips.
Role overview – Reporting to the Manufacturing Systems Team Lead, join a team of manufacturing engineers in a manual assembly production facility, with products (predominantly semiconductor abatement systems) involving a mix of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic assembly. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the manufacturing system within the allocated manufacturing cell(s). They will create, maintain and continually improve safe and Lean assembly and test processes for existing and new products.
Main Responsibilities -
To document, implement, own and continuously improve the manufacturing cell's Lean manufacturing processes according to the guidelines of the Vacuum Technique Production System
Accountable for the definition, setup and optimisation of the processes within the allocated manufacturing cell(s)
Implement continuous improvement activities and projects
To design or optimise, prove, implement and maintain cell layouts
Implement and maintain risk assessments for allocated manufacturing cell(s), including the authoring of safe systems of work
Specification and purchasing of the appropriate tooling and equipment for the allocated manufacturing cell(s)
Ensure configuration control of operational documentation in compliance to our current regulations in terms of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
Ownership and accountability to resolve or support any non-conformity, internal or external, impacting the manufacturing process
Elimination of routing and material variances with the allocated manufacturing cell(s)
React to production feedback and manufacturing lessons learnt to influence design revision or correction through the engineering change process
Experience & Skills -
Equivalent experience in a comparable role (essential) (desirable 3+ years)
Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering degree or engineering qualification (desirable)
Process documentation authoring, writing of procedures and work instructions (essential)
Experience in optimising production processes as well as providing production support (essential)
Experience of problem solving and or utilising root cause analysis tools in a manufacturing environment (essential)
Able to work cross functionally, communicate and build working relationships at all levels (essential)
Ability to develop technical solutions, to requirements, within agreed timescales (essential)
IT literacy - proficient user of MS office and similar applications used in an office environment (essential)
Understands engineering drawings, schematics and diagrams (essential)
Experience in implementing the principles of Lean manufacturing (desirable)
Tooling design and development (desirable)
Technical knowledge including mechanical, electrical and pneumatics (desirable)
Basic CAD skills for layout design and design model interrogation (desirable)
MRP/ERP system use - SAP (desirable)
DFM/PFMEA awareness (desirable)
Experience in implementing change, change management (desirable)
Risk assessments and understanding of compliance requirements to health and safety, environmental and quality regulations (desirable)
Project management experience, including risk, schedule and cost (desirable)
