Job Description:
Are you a Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for process improvement, Lean methodologies, and driving operational efficiency? This is a fantastic opportunity to lead continuous improvement and capital projects, working across all departments in a complex, high-value manufacturing environment.
With a salary of up to £55,000, plus private medical cover, enhanced pension, and a company shares scheme, this role offers the chance to deliver high-impact cost-saving projects, increase productivity, and embed a culture of Lean manufacturing. If you have Six Sigma (ideally Black Belt/Master Black Belt), expertise in process automation, waste reduction, and efficiency planning, we want to hear from you.
The Successful Manufacturing Engineer Will Be Responsible For:
- Leading process improvement and capital projects, including business case development, budget management, and reporting.
- Researching and implementing new equipment, systems, and technologies to enhance operations.
- Driving a Lean Manufacturing culture within production teams and across the wider business.
- Managing cost reduction strategies through waste elimination and efficiency improvements.
- Coaching and mentoring teams on Lean methodologies, structured daily management, and KPI-driven improvement actions.
- Implementing process standardisation, value stream mapping, and automation solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Ensuring all projects meet health, safety, and compliance requirements, progressing seamlessly from concept to delivery.
The Successful Manufacturing Engineer Will Have:
- Strong manufacturing process knowledge, ideally in a relevant industry.
- Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, DMAIC, DMADV, and OEE.
- Proven track record in delivering efficiency improvement projects and measurable cost savings.
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving expertise (e.g., 5 Whys, 8D, A3).
- Familiarity with process automation, risk assessment (FMEA), and time in motion studies.
- Ability to influence at all levels, from shop-floor operators to senior management.
- Resilience, adaptability, and a strategic mindset to lead business-wide transformation.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive manufacturing business where your expertise will directly impact efficiency, cost savings, and long-term success. With a strong salary, excellent benefits, and the autonomy to lead change, this role is perfect for a Manufacturing Engineer ready to make a tangible difference.
