Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Coordinator is responsible for controlling the flow of work to the manufacturing and quality work centers. The Manufacturing Coordinator oversees Dispatch and collaborates with Planning Group, Materials Group, Manufacturing Group and other stakeholders to ensure adequate flow of work to each work center and to eliminate constraints/bottlenecks. The Manufacturing Coordinator assists Materials Group with movement and documentation of inventory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Aligns with Planning Group to ensure a steady flow of work jackets to Dispatch.
  2. Oversee the printing and issuance of work jackets to the manufacturing floors, verification of completed work jackets and return of completed work jackets to Planning Group.
  3. Communicates production schedules and dispatch priorities to Manufacturing Group, Planning Group, Materials Group and other stakeholders.
  4. Leads daily Dispatch Meetings and/or other meetings as needed. Active participant in S&OP Meetings.
  5. Assists Materials Group with material movements and job kitting.
  6. Participates in cycle counts and/or physical inventory counts to validate inventory integrity.
  7. Identifies and eliminates process bottlenecks and other resource constraints.
  8. Performs all duties of Dispatch Operator as needed.
  9. Coordinates with Planning Group to create/report Shipment Forecast.
  10. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for creating a professional, safe, and clean environment evidenced by: being at work on time to perform assigned duties, following the policies of Granite State Manufacturing, always wearing safety glasses in designated areas, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and following safety practices to prevent errors.
  11. Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by establishing effective relationships and networks with both managers/directors and workers, and collaborating with them to accomplish shared purposes and goals.
  12. Abides by GSM Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards and strictly observes all U.S. and foreign laws and regulations.
  13. Completes other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED), one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows based computer program, and ERP/MRP based company-wide sales order administrative systems.
  3. Ability to measure performance to goals and standards. An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control; remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things. Ability to communicate effectively.
