Job description

World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a Manufacturing Controller subcontractor on an initial 12 month contract. The role does require the candidate to have Lineside / Production line experience. Looking for experience in either Manufacturing control or inventory control within a manufacturing environment.

Hourly Rate: £25.26 per hour

Contract Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)

Manufacturing Controller Job Description:

The Manufacturing Controller role will involve issue, receipt and management of stores and inventory in a stores environment. Loading, control and monitoring of work packages in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Stock control / storekeeping including shelf life control.
  2. Loading the manufacturing cells with the requisite jobs in accordance with planned lead and cycle times, in order to comply with manufacturing programmes and delivery schedules.
  3. Packing including the use of hand tools. Receiving and issuing of tooling.
  4. Updating computer records.
  5. Kitting activity.
  6. Loading and unloading of Lorries.

Skillset/experience required:
  1. Experience in a stores environment or manufacturing control.
  2. Follow instructions.
  3. Willing to work flexible shift patterns.
  4. Attention to detail.
  5. Work on own with minimal supervision.
  6. Use own initiative.

Training:
  1. Manual handling training.
  2. Lifting & Slinging training (Including overhead cranes).
  3. ESD training.

Desirable skills:
  1. PC skills, including EXCEL.
  2. Fork lift truck licence.
  3. Knowledge of Kanban and 2 bin systems.
  4. Experience with an Enterprise Planning System e.g. SAP.
