Manufacturing Compliance Manager

Full time, permanent

Salisbury, Wiltshire

Our client, Wilton Carpets Factory, has dedicated themselves to crafting beautiful and durable wool carpets for a broad range of commercial environments without compromise. They are part of the fabric and heritage of the country, using the same site as 300 years ago when they started and continue to use British wool, maintaining relentless attention to the quality of what they produce.

To negotiate and manage all raw material and energy contracts and to ensure that they meet the required standards and are delivered on time, they are now looking for a Manufacturing Compliance Manager to join their team in Salisbury, Wiltshire. You will also look after H&S and ISO within the factory as well as have the overall responsibility for production planning.

Manufacturing Compliance Manager, the role:
  • QMS Systems – ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation; managing ISO systems within the factory; overseeing carpets’ technical and testing certificates; chairing ISO and H&S meetings; recommending solutions to existing processes to reduce waste.
  • Materials – purchasing and negotiating all raw material contracts; ensuring quality and standards of raw materials; shade matching of yarn and production carpet; negotiating energy contracts; managing the distribution of supplies; monitoring inventory levels and access to materials.
  • Suppliers – working with management to identify supply needs; researching potential vendors; liaising with all suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and overseeing tufting manufacturers on shade matching, quality, design, etc.
  • Production planning – ensuring all production is planned in line with raw material and resource availability.
Manufacturing Compliance Manager, the person:
  • Previous experience in a similar role and a technical background – full training within the specific sector will be given.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles as well as material control.
  • Proactive and a team player with strong leadership skills and proven ability to develop others.
  • Organized and a natural problem solver with excellent communication skills.
  • Efficient coordinator with a detailed approach to work.
  • Energetic and dynamic individual with a “can do” attitude.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills.
