Manufacturing Bid Leader

A Manufacturing Bid Lead is required for a long term contract role based in Bolton.

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 1-2 days per week on-site due to workload classification.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead bids on behalf of manufacturing, ensuring clarity of scope within Bid Directive and alignment with manufacturing industrial policy.
2. Generate cost bases for manufacturing bids (Excel), analyzing data to ensure it is quantifiable and backed by evidence for 3-point estimating.
3. Develop competitive, compliant manufacturing bids (PowerPoint), ensuring all risks are assessed effectively and are financially sound.
4. Maintain strong and collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders, providing Manufacturing with forward visibility of future bids and market intelligence.
5. Support the New Business Team in identifying new business opportunities and developing winning approaches.
6. Participate in Functional & Strategic Change activities, supporting best practices and functional excellence.
7. Support the validation and evolution of the cost model and bidding methodology, ensuring competitiveness checks are in place.
8. Collect, summarize, and present information or data, ensuring completeness and accuracy for decision-making.
9. Ensure effective process governance in assigned areas, promoting a culture of best practice sharing and knowledge exploitation.

Qualifications:

1. Experience working on complex bids with a proven record in generating costed proposals/manufacturing bids.
2. Good understanding of the manufacturing production process, from procurement to delivery.
3. Commercially astute with experience in working with cost models.
4. Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience in multi-functional teams.
5. Keen to adopt a continuous improvement attitude.
