Our Client based in the Bedford area is looking to recruit a Manual Machinist:
Machine Shop Reporting to: Machine Shop Manager
Main Purpose:
The main purpose of the role is to produce machined items of tooling, utilising various metal machining centres, whilst operating independently. Although the role predominates around the automotive sector, it will also encompass industrial engineering projects from other business sectors, such as logistics and agriculture.
The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of the operation of mills and lathes, with good understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling, work holding, etc. This role would be suitable for candidates who can confidently demonstrate strong machining capabilities.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, a team player, and an experienced machinist, who will also have the skills and ability to use multiple disciplines to successfully produce quality, machined items. Ideally, you will be apprenticeship trained and will be fully competent in safely working from technical drawings to the highest standards of workmanship, cleanliness, and within the agreed timescales.
Terms: The position is permanent, based on 40 hours per week. Salary is based on experience, knowledge, and competence. Access to the company contribution pension scheme. 22 days annual holiday, rising 1 day per year, up to a maximum of 25 days per annum.
