We have a fantastic opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable main contractor in Southampton. The business is one of the largest privately owned contractors in the UK, undertaking projects across the commercial, education, student accommodation and mixed-use residential sectors valuing from £25mil - £100mil+. The contractor has continued to grow and with a strong pipeline of projects, is now looking to expand the commercial team.

About the role of Managing Quantity Surveyor:

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be working as Commercial Lead on an upcoming scheme with a team of surveyors reporting into you. You will report into the Commercial Director.

Key responsibilities as Managing Quantity Surveyor:

1. Work alongside the pre-construction team through 2nd stage tenders
2. Oversee the project's procurement / management of sub-contractor packages
3. Deal with final accounts / any dispute resolution that may arise
4. Mentor junior members of the Surveying team and be involved in their professional development

Key Requirements for this Managing Quantity Surveyor position:

1. Hold a BSc Quantity Surveying or HNC
2. Have experience working as commercial lead on sizeable schemes
3. Have experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final account
4. Be proficient in administering various forms of contract including JCT and NEC
5. Have the full right to work in the UK and be happy to commute throughout the South of England.
