  • Exceptional relationship building skills with a track history of creating long-lasting, beneficial alliances with clients at all levels, from CMO down.
  • Own the leadership of key client relationships, targeting strategic growth and the development of exceptional work.
  • Be the point of escalation for client issues and point of support for agency teams.
  • Execution of strategies and to have ultimate oversight of the agency’s new business efforts including approach, pitch and tender processes, external relationships and owned/earned media profile.
  • Act as the linchpin between account management, creative, strategy, design and delivery teams.
  • Responsible for the guidance and development of the team. Great communication and leadership are essential; this includes both the ability to inspire the team and spot potential as well as manage difficult team dynamics.
  • Implementation of new accounts where applicable.
  • Working in a team of between 60-100.
  • Up to 10 direct reports.
  • Knowledge of Shopper Marketing and FMCG / Retail experience.
  • Financial responsibility of up to £10m.
  • This is an onsite role, based out of the OLIVER Offices in Nottingham including travel to other client sites across the North and Midlands, where necessary. We do have a hybrid working pattern but expect a minimum of 3 days in the office – this could be more based on client meetings.
  • You will be open and willing to attend sustainability training relevant to your role and soak up recommended research and reading about sustainability issues.
What you need to be great in this role:
  • Excellent client engagement skills with the ability to proactively organise and influence clients and build strong and effective working relationships.
  • An effective and pro-active leadership ability.
  • A great new business acumen with a solid conversion rate.
  • Clear and inspiring presentation skills with a strong and concise communication style.
  • A deep understanding of running an in-house agency or large teams.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, ability to think on your feet and to make autonomous decisions.
  • Ability to work independently – whilst you will have strong OLIVER support around you, you will be the most senior person in a satellite office so will be required to lead.
  • Strong people management skills. Support and develop the team, setting a strategy for their training and development, liaising with clients to manage workloads and is always prepared to get stuck in during busy periods.
  • Experience in Retail and FMCG.
  • Experience working with Shopper Marketing and in-store marketing channels.
  • AI knowledge and experience would be a benefit.
  • You can be the change - you prioritise environmental responsibility, social equity, and economic viability and how that translates into your day-to-day role.
