We're looking for a strategic and entrepreneurial Managing Director of Software Business to take full ownership of a global software business that's primed for growth. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of market expansion, product direction, and commercial performance - bringing fresh ideas and driving the business forward through focused business development and leadership.
This is a unique opportunity to join a respected, research-led organization operating internationally across water, climate, environmental, and utility sectors. While the software business currently represents a smaller share of the company (around GBP2M turnover), it has a solid foundation, international teams, and ambitious growth plans already in motion.
The Role:
You'll lead this growing business as its dedicated Managing Director of Software Business, reporting directly to a member of the Executive Leadership Team. You'll shape its future - from strategy and structure to team development, P&L ownership, and market positioning. This isn't a hands-on technical role, but you'll need to be technically credible, commercially astute, and confident in steering product development, global sales, and business performance.
