Remote UK with Central London travel (should be commutable) | Must have right to live and work in the UK

Ceto Talent is proud to be partnering exclusively with the Saint Kitts and Nevis International Ship Registry in their search for a Manager - Maritime Affairs to join their small but high-impact team.

This is a highly visible and strategic role, where you'll represent the Registry across key IMO and intergovernmental forums, provide technical and policy support, and play an active part in shaping international maritime regulation.

The role at a glance:

As Manager - Maritime Affairs, you will:

  1. Represent St Kitts and Nevis Registry and the Federation at IMO meetings and other relevant industry events.
  2. Provide technical support to internal departments, including preparing IMO submissions and briefing papers.
  3. Monitor regulatory developments, contributing to policy formation and technical advice.
  4. Lead and support working/drafting groups, attend correspondence group deliberations, and engage stakeholders across governments, NGOs, and shipowners.
  5. Supervise the Maritime Affairs team in line with St Kitts & Nevis Registry's professional standards.

What we're looking for:

You'll bring a strong mix of operational, technical, and policy experience, ideally including:

  1. A senior Certificate of Competency (e.g., Chief Mate, Master, 2nd Engineer or Chief Engineer), or
  2. A relevant bachelor's/master's/doctoral degree in Maritime Law, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, etc.
  3. Minimum of 3 years' sea-going experience and 3 years in a shore-based maritime role
  4. Understanding of Flag State responsibilities and maritime regulatory frameworks
  5. Experience attending IMO or equivalent international maritime meetings.
  6. Strong analytical and communication skills - both written and verbal
  7. A natural collaborator with confidence to represent the Registry at high-level meetings.
  8. Must be within commutable distance to central London and have full UK working rights.

Why join?

This is a rare opportunity to:

  1. Be the voice of a dynamic flag at the IMO and across the maritime industry.
  2. Work closely with experienced professionals who are passionate about the future of shipping.
  3. Be at the forefront of regulatory and policy change in a rapidly evolving sector.

Package includes:

  1. Competitive salary
  2. 23 days annual leave (plus UK bank holidays)
  3. Company contributory pension scheme
  4. Paid subsistence allowance while attending IMO sessions.
