Position: Deputy Manager
We are looking for a Deputy Manager to join the team at a day centre for Learning Disability and Autism in Oxford. The salary is competitive, increasing after probation, and you will be working in a fun and rewarding role with a great team and many benefits.
This role is varied with no two days being the same. As well as deputising for the manager, you’ll be managing rotas, mentoring, training, and coaching staff. You will oversee the smooth running and delivery of the service. Day-to-day activities include supported employment, arts and crafts, snooker, baking, drama, music, dance, and horticulture.
One day you may find yourself supporting a small group to visit the market, play a few rounds of mini golf, or go for a swim. The next, you could be taking a client to their work experience at a local farm or on a visit to a museum. The Day Centre has laptops and iPads, a fully accessible kitchen, living room, Sensory/Interactive Room, and a large courtyard.
You will be working hours a week on a rota, including days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins. You will also take on on-call duties outside of working hours.
You must have supervisory experience within the social care sector, understanding the intricacies and challenges involved. You will need to be flexible and organized, with a positive approach. Attention to detail, and good Microsoft Word and Excel skills would also be beneficial.
