Job description

How the role will make an impact:

The Management Accountant plays a crucial role by assisting Senior Management in making critical business decisions by analysing and presenting key financial data. The MA will assume responsibility of cost accounting tasks and be both a strategist and decision maker. The goal is to contribute to the decision-making process of management that will ensure business growth and long-term success.


Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  1. Gather and analyse financial information for internal use
  2. Support budgeting and forecasting which assist business planning and decision-making
  3. Assist with accounting procedures
  4. Evaluate the Company's performance using key data
  5. Advise on problems and suggest improvements
  6. Assist with finance transformation activities
  7. Assist in the preparation of the monthly Management Account and Management Information packs to Plc reporting deadlines
  8. Support ad hoc accounting and financial month end requirements
  9. Good controls mindset to support the Finance Manager in creating a strong and robust controls framework.

Key Skills:

  1. Excellent knowledge of financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel and Power-point
  2. Solid knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices
  3. Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting
  4. Excellent knowledge of budgeting and forecasting
  5. Analytical mind
  6. Excellent communication and presentation skills
  7. A problem solver with attention to detail
  8. Organisational and leadership skills
  9. Qualified CIMA, ACCA or working towards a professional qualification
  10. Positive team player, working with all aspects of the business to provide constructive solutions
  11. Experience in using Hyperion Financial Management package would be an advantage
  12. A strong inclination for an interest in system and process improvement. The individual must be capable of using their initiative to propose improvements.
