Management Accountant - based in Wigton, Salary up to £45000 per annum, option of 1 day per week hybrid

Our client, a specialist, global manufacturing organisation based in Wigton is recruiting a talented, qualified Management Accountant due to a recent internal promotion. Reporting to the UK Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will ensure financial reporting is in place and the relevant controls are applied.
This is a critical partnering role, liaising with all functions across the business.

Key responsibilities of this Management Accountant job are:

1. Preparation of monthly reports for review, communication and analysis
2. All aspects of month end reporting to the shareholders and cost centre managers
3. Staff management and development of 2 direct reports
4. Act as a key business partner to a wide range of stakeholders within finance and cross-functionally
5. Working closely with the UK Financial Controller to understand the impact of Operational performance on UK results
6. Monthly VAT and Intrastat submissions
7. Assisting with the preparation and review of annual budgets
8. Apply a continuous improvement ethos towards all processes and assist with the development and redesign of various reporting and analysis tools
9. Manage and control customer pricing
10. Administration of agent commission agreements ensuring all accruals and subsequent payments are in accordance with contractual agreements
11. Manage HMRC requirements
12. Liaising with both Internal and External auditors
13. Acting as key support for UK Financial Controller, providing cover when required
14. Acting as the financial lead on various cross-functional projects as required
15. Other ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required

The skill and experience required for this Management Accountant job include:

• Fully Qualified Accountant, or part qualified nearing completion
• Strong analytical skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• High level of Microsoft Excel skills including competency in dealing with high volumes of data, SAP experience preferred but not essential
• Proven commercial acumen within a manufacturing or engineering organisation is desirable
