The Client:
A market leading Manufacturer organisation based in Teesside.
We are recruiting a motivated Management Accountant to bolster the finance team following major growth over the last 5 years and further planned growth in the future. This is an exciting time to be joining the organisation with a large order book in hand and significant appetite and opportunities for further growth.
The Opportunity:
As Management Accountant, you will report into the Finance Manager and you will be considered a key person in the finance team.
You will be accountable for producing accurate financial accounts, forecasts, budgets and analysis which will be used both internally and externally.
There is a solid succession plan for their finance team; the CFO was an apprentice 20 years ago and most of the finance team have grown alongside the business. There currently are 2 Management Accountants and a recently promoted FD who was a previous MA.
Some of the responsibilities for this successful individual would be but not limited to:
- Developing financial analysis and reporting, incl. standardising or automating existing reporting.
- Monitoring and controlling key WIP / Raw Material stocks.
- Owning and generating financial accounts package for a number of sites / business units, incl. preparation of management reports, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory accounts and fixed asset register controls.
- Monitor and reporting on the financial performance of separate business units, incl. working with the factory management to improve cost / utilisation performance.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Systems and controls required to produce accurate financial information.
- Preparing ad-hoc reports if required by Finance and Business management.
The Candidate:
The successful Management Accountant will be/have:
- Be a Part or Qualified Accountant - (CIMA, ACCA)
- Have proven experience in a Management Accountant or related position
- Preferably from a Manufacturing, Chemical or Oil & Gas industry background, but this is definitely not essential
- You will be looking to cut your teeth in the role and grow with the organisation
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities whilst still working to a high level of detail
- Excellent if you have used Sage / Sage 200
- Self-motivated and take ownership and see tasks through from start to finish
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and an inquisitive nature
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build, develop and influence relationships
- Ability to identify and drive process change and improvement
- Be adaptable, flexible and inquisitive.
- Show desire to review and improve existing processes
- Strong personality to be able to challenge in a professional manner
