Job description

New Role: Management Accountant
Location: Northampton
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Hours: Full Time, office based. (40 hours per week)
Reporting to: Financial Controller

The Accountancy & Finance Division at The ONE Group is currently recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant on the behalf of an established and reputable manufacturing business based in Northampton. This role reports directly into the Financial Controller and will be acting as strong right-hand person to the FC in their absence and during busy periods.

Role Overview
Seeking an experienced Management Accountant to manage financial reporting, reconciliations, and key accounting tasks. Ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure accounts are accurate and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  2. VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with tax regulations.
  3. Payroll Support: Reconcile payroll reports, post entries, and provide payroll backup.
  4. Journal Entries: Accurately post journals in line with company policies.
  5. Credit Card Reconciliations: Manage reconciliations for company credit cards.
  6. Turnover Reporting: Produce accurate daily turnover reports.
  7. Fixed Asset Management: Maintain the fixed asset register for acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
  8. Suspense Account Management: Review and clear outstanding items efficiently.
  9. Other duties as and when required.

Skills and Experience

  1. AAT qualification or equivalent.
  2. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  3. Ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
  5. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  6. Experience in reconciliations, journal posting, and VAT returns.
  7. Knowledge of payroll processes.
