At Barnett Waddingham, we are currently recruiting an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance business area. This role will be on a permanent basis, hybrid working, and based in our London office.
The successful Management Accountant will be qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), with a few years of experience working as a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication and accounting skills to gain more exposure within a diverse finance department.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with completion of month-end processes, including preparing accrual and prepayment journals, and reconciling income and WIP.
- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts, taking ownership of specific cost lines to provide variance analysis.
- Provide monthly commentary and present financial results to business area leaders.
- Assist the Deputy Finance Manager in year-end close and audit queries.
- Maintain accurate and timely balance sheet schedules.
- Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and reporting to regulatory bodies such as the FCA.
- Perform regular cost reviews to ensure purchase orders are raised correctly against budget.
- Support the finance team with training and documentation of processes.
We would love to hear from you if you have:- ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified.
- Good knowledge of current accounting and reporting standards.
- Previous experience in a management accounts position.
- Experience with Excel (Intermediate to advanced).
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion or a similar ERP system is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of statutory regulation such as VAT and Anti-Money Laundering regulations and other legislation.
- Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Track record of working with large and complex data.
