At Barnett Waddingham, we are currently recruiting an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance business area. This role will be on a permanent basis, hybrid working, and based in our London office.

The successful Management Accountant will be qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), with a few years of experience working as a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication and accounting skills to gain more exposure within a diverse finance department.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with completion of month-end processes, including preparing accrual and prepayment journals, and reconciling income and WIP.
  2. Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts, taking ownership of specific cost lines to provide variance analysis.
  3. Provide monthly commentary and present financial results to business area leaders.
  4. Assist the Deputy Finance Manager in year-end close and audit queries.
  5. Maintain accurate and timely balance sheet schedules.
  6. Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and reporting to regulatory bodies such as the FCA.
  7. Perform regular cost reviews to ensure purchase orders are raised correctly against budget.
  8. Support the finance team with training and documentation of processes.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
  1. ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified.
  2. Good knowledge of current accounting and reporting standards.
  3. Previous experience in a management accounts position.
  4. Experience with Excel (Intermediate to advanced).
  5. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  6. Experience with Oracle Fusion or a similar ERP system is highly desirable.
  7. Knowledge of statutory regulation such as VAT and Anti-Money Laundering regulations and other legislation.
  8. Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  9. Track record of working with large and complex data.
