Radiology is a busy department providing X-ray, Mammography, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound services. We provide 24/7 diagnostic services to the rest of the hospital using high quality up-to-date equipment.
Within our Trust, we provide imaging to symptomatic breast patients through clinic-led care. We work closely with the breast consultants to ensure continuity of care and try wherever possible to provide a one-stop diagnostic service for patients.
The successful candidate will show leadership qualities required to support and guide a team of staff with a variety of skills and experience.
The post holder will be an integral part of the Radiology team, working closely with the Senior Radiographers to ensure smooth delivery of care for the patients, whilst maintaining Radiographic standards and promoting good practice to Radiographers & Radiology students.
The staff member will be responsible for promoting the continuing professional development of other Radiology personnel.
To adhere to good practices of Radiographic technique and abide by the acknowledged safe practices of radiation protection standards.
To assist in the day-to-day management and running of the Radiology department including tasks such as room rosters, holiday allocations, workflow management & departmental health and safety.
To provide mammography cover cross-site when required.
Candidates must be able to undertake general radiography also.
Tasks may include; assisting in biopsy procedures, general radiography, patient care, organisation of lists, effective communication with other departments, support for patients, moving and handling tasks, booking appointments.
You will bring advanced technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately. You should have a great eye for detail and be caring by nature.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
