Job description

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation with the recruitment of a Make Ready Support Technician to join their team based in Bangor.

This is a Part-Time position. 30 hours per week.

The purpose of this role is ensuring that ambulances, medical equipment, and consumables are ready for operational duty, maintaining the safety and well-being of both staff and patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring cleanliness and readiness of ambulances, including restocking and checking equipment.
  • Conducting Vehicle Daily Inspections (VDI) and addressing defects.
  • Communicating effectively with staff for scheduling cleaning, decontamination, and maintenance.
  • Managing clinical supplies and ensuring they meet the agreed levels.
  • Ensuring accurate record-keeping for vehicle cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Adhering to health and safety policies, including using appropriate PPE and handling hazardous substances (COSHH).
  • Reporting hazards and defects, and ensuring safe working practices.
  • Participating in training and development opportunities.

The Ideal Person:

  • 3 GCSEs (including English Language) or equivalent, or a relevant vocational qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2) with 1 year of experience in a service department (such as support services).
  • OR at least 3 years' experience in a service discipline.
  • Category C1 driving licence (or ability to obtain one before starting).
  • Flexibility for shift work, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Willingness to work at different locations.
