Job description

Salary: USD $21.00/Hr.

Description and Responsibilities

Open Sky is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our in-house Maintenance team! The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of Open Sky’s properties in the Blackstone Valley and Wrentham areas of Massachusetts, which include but are not limited to Uxbridge, Whitinsville, Douglas, and Millbury.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is handy and has experience in property maintenance, including upkeep of electrical and plumbing fixtures, painting, light carpentry, and exterior needs. They are confident with performing maintenance work with safety in mind. They like stable, consistent work, with a great benefits package including generous paid time off, and access to a supportive team of other maintenance technicians.

Other Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with preventative maintenance at properties.
  • Remove snow from walkways and entrance ways and maintain landscaping.
  • Maintain the building utility systems, electrical, heating, ventilation, elevator, and fire protection.
  • Recommend outside contractors for repairs when necessary and oversee their work. Meet and assist vendors on site when necessary.
  • Assist in set-up and take-down of equipment for special functions.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record, required.
  • Physically able to operate a company vehicle (van) and perform maintenance duties, which includes working on ladders, lifting, and moving large items, required.
  • Basic knowledge and a knack for common repairs and upkeep.
  • Customer-minded, reliable, and open to new opportunities.
