Job description

Astute’s Renewables Team is partnering with a renewable energy provider, renowned for its dedication to professional growth and sustainability to recruit a Maintenance Technician for its Granville site.

The Maintenance Technician role comes with a salary of up to £46,000 + bonus + development opportunities.

Responsibilities and duties of the Maintenance Technician

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will:

  1. Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment.
  2. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation faults.
  3. Carry out first-line maintenance on pumps, valves, conveyors, digesters, shredders and associated plant equipment.
  4. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  5. Work collaboratively with operations staff to improve plant performance and efficiency.
  6. Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.
  7. Assist with plant modifications, upgrades, and improvement projects.
  8. Respond to breakdowns and provide out-of-hours support if required.
  9. Other duties as required.
Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  1. Previous experience performing electrical or mechanical maintenance ideally in water/sludge treatment, power generation, or industrial processing environment.
  2. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  3. Experience with PLC fault finding is desirable.
  4. Fabrication and welding experience is desirable.
  5. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  6. Relevant engineering qualifications, such as an NVQ, HNC, HND, or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  7. 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations (if electrically biased) is a plus.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Personal skills

The Maintenance Technician role would suit someone who is:

  1. Initiative and proactive to help identify possible plant improvements.
  2. Strong time management skills, prioritising planned preventative maintenance while handling reactive repairs.
  3. Keen attitude towards building relationships with the operation team to work in conjunction with the operations team.
Salary and benefits of the Maintenance Technician role
  1. An excellent salary ranging from £40,000 - £46,000.
  2. 25 days annual leave plus 8 days bank holiday.
  3. Overtime paid at 1.5 x between Monday to Saturday and 2 x on Sunday.
  4. Annual bonus scheme.
  5. Call out paid at 4 hours minimum.
  6. Continuous training opportunities.
