Maintenance Technician in Rhymney

Job description

This role is a temporary role (12 months).

The maintenance technician will be responsible for front line maintenance and break down response on a shift basis working a rotating shift pattern. This is a key role in maintaining continuity in production at our client's manufacturing facility.

The main objective of this role is to keep manufacturing assets safely operational to ensure that the production targets are met consistently through planned and reactive maintenance. Problem solving on a range of assets to fix failures initially then follow up to prevent repeat failures. The role covers a broad range of activities including maintenance, repair and continuous improvement activities on production equipment, chemical process plant, textile and conversion equipment, air compressors, boilers, chiller plant, HVAC, Building Management Systems, SCADA systems.

Skills & Experience:

1. An understanding of clean room or controlled environment controls i.e. HVAC, Humidity and Pressure Cascades etc.
2. Broad experience in Electrical Systems, Operations and Maintenance, with proven ability in the management of site infrastructure systems and services, such as: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems and controls, Fire Protection systems, LV Electrical networks.
3. Fluent PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, plus ideally MS Project, CAD.
4. General Knowledge of 18th Edition (BS-7671) IEE Regulations.
5. Knowledge of PLC's and SCADA systems would be advantageous.
6. Compex training/awareness desirable.
7. Knowledge of CMMS systems such as Maximo.

Qualifications/Education:

1. HNC / ONC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering preferred. Experienced in managing electrical systems.
2. A recognized engineering apprenticeship completed within a regulated industry.
