Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a leading innovator in renewable energy production, specialising in biogas plants, to recruit a Maintenance Technician for their site in Girvan, Ayrshire.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader you will:

  1. Ensure Maintenance Plan is in place to meet legal, compliance and output requirements and to protect the client's assets.
  2. Be responsible for ensuring the maintenance plan is adhered to and performance reported on every month.
  3. Ensure that forward planning for the Permit to Work system is adhered to and that all site personnel utilise the PTW system.
  4. Define and maintain an appropriate level of spare parts in stock. Be involved in and maintain FMECA study. Frequently assess and review spare parts for suitability.
  5. Provide a monthly summary report of Maintenance performance, on time each month and as requested by Site Leader. Report on Compliance, Quality, Volume/Yield, Costs, People, and any other KPI's Risks/Opportunities, AOB.
  6. Be part of the on-call structure for the site.
  7. Assist hands-on with maintenance tasks as required.
  8. Other duties as required.


Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  1. Qualified to a minimum of HND Level in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent) or can fully demonstrate comparable experience.
  2. Full UK Driving license (essential).
  3. IOSH (preferred).


Personal Skills

The Maintenance Technician role would suit someone who has:

  1. At least 2 years' experience within anaerobic digestion or a similar processing environment.
  2. Experience of working under the remit of a quality management system and/or compliance quality standards e.g., PAS110, ISO 9001, FSSC 22001.
  3. Experience working under a Quality Management System (QMS).
  4. Experience within a similar industry working under the remit of COMPEX/ATEX regulations.
