Maintenance Technician

An experienced Maintenance Technician is required by our client, an ingredient company based in Kent. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to relevant current legislation/regulations, health & safety, maintenance systems, and processes to support production needs as and when required.

Main Day-to-Day Duties:

• Maintain critical equipment through reactive, planned, and preventative activities.
• Prioritise planned and reactive work orders through guidance from the Engineering Supervisor.
• Support key stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
• Keep all records up to date through the CCMS system.
• Report to the Engineering Supervisor with solutions on major and chronic breakdowns.
• Manage on-site contractors through PTW and RAMS.
• Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement to boost efficiency.
• Carry out project work and installations to current UK regulations.
• Demonstrate good housekeeping at all times.
• Ensure food hygiene and food safety standards are upheld at all times.
• Ensure smooth handovers across shifts and communicate effectively with other department members.

The successful candidate should have a strong academic track record in a process engineering-related discipline, or be a time-served maintenance technician with process control experience in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications required include NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering discipline, or suitable experience as a time-served Maintenance Technician in a production environment. At least 5 years of experience in ideally a food manufacturing environment is necessary, along with a proven track record in production technical processes. IOSHH certification will be an advantage.
