Senior Maintenance Engineer

Days

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000

I am currently supporting a well-established engineering company in Redruth who are looking for a Senior Maintenance Engineer to support the Engineering Manager and act as the deputy. You will work closely with the production and engineering team to continuously improve site overall equipment effectiveness, people development, and a lean culture. You will be responsible for developing and leading all engineering functions as agreed with the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

1. Support the engineering team, with hands-on experience to mentor the team ensuring that PPMs, SSOWs, and working procedures are followed.
2. Support the Engineering Manager with the planning, organizing, and coordinating resources to meet production requirements of ongoing maintenance, machine replacement, and unplanned issues.
3. Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment as per production requirements.
4. Support the Engineering Manager to deliver training to engineers and operators on new machinery, using the machinery documentation and SSOWs.
5. Ensure PPM schedule is adhered to and highlight issues to the Engineering Manager.

Skills & Requirements:

1. A strategic thinker with good business acumen and the ability to think from the customers' perspective.
2. Proven experience of industrial maintenance or production.
3. NEBOSH qualification (desirable).
4. Educated to degree level or NVQ Level 5 in relevant engineering field.

This role requires flexibility on holiday coverage where occasional shift/weekend work is required.
