Maintenance Team Leader
Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire
£56,000 – Inclusive of Shift Allowance
3 on 3 off permanent nights (6pm – 6am)

This company is part of a global organisation who manufacture food products into major retailers such as Subway, McDonalds, Tesco and many more major companies within the industry.

As a business we have annual turnover well in excess of £15m and have reinvested this into our state of the art facility in Burton. Over the last 5 years we have invested over £60m into our plant and boast an incredibly low staff turnover rate within our maintenance team as a result.

We are looking to fill this vacancy as a result of expansion as we transition into a different shift pattern. As the successful engineer, you’ll be part of a small team of 3 dedicated night shift engineers with plans to expand further in the near future.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Hands on maintenance team leader – Supporting all 3 areas of the business with 3 direct reports.
  2. Shift handovers summarising key areas for attention to the next shift and maintenance manager.
  3. Planned and reactive maintenance across a wide variety of plant machinery including multivacs, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, relays, inverters, drives, fillers, slicers and much more.
  4. Involvement in continuous improvements and projects across the site.
  5. Adhering to health and safety regulations across site whilst ensuring OEE is maximised.


The Successful Engineer

  1. Multi Skilled with either a mechanical or electrical bias are encouraged to apply – Close to 50:50 as possible is ideal.
  2. Previous experience as a lead engineer or maintenance team leader/senior engineer or maintenance lead is highly beneficial.
  3. Minimum of 5 years experience as a multi skilled maintenance engineer within an industrial environment.
  4. Food experience is beneficial but not a deal breaker; we have engineers from all backgrounds in our team.
  5. Ideally qualified to a minimum of L3 within a maintenance discipline (NVQ/City and Guilds, HNC/D).
