An established industry player is seeking a Maintenance Plant Operative to join their team in Cranfield. This role involves operating a pilot plant using advanced control systems and ensuring smooth operations through effective monitoring and coordination. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, particularly in mechanical or related fields, and be capable of assisting with maintenance tasks and first-line fault diagnosis. Experience in plant operation and monitoring is essential.
Mechanical or other engineering backgrounds are acceptable.

MPI requires a Maintenance Plant Operative for our client based in Cranfield.

Date start: Late March

Duration: 6 months with option to extend

Shift patterns: 7:00am-15:00pm, 15:00pm-23:00pm, 23:00pm-7:00am (30mins to 1 hour overlap between each shift)

Hours each week and regularity: Hours per week are likely variable depending on activities on site. Expected a minimum of 3-4 shifts a week.

Duties:

Operate the pilot plant using a control system (SCADA).
Monitor the plant during operation, start-up, shut down, and follow the operating procedures.
Coordinate and direct control room operations.
Monitor and control process parameters.
Assist Shift Team Leader with plant operation, monitoring, and first-line fault diagnosis.
Assist with maintenance tasks on site.

Qualifications:

Previous plant experience.
Mechanical background preferred, but other engineering backgrounds (chemical, process, electrical, automotive, aeronautic) are acceptable.
Blue CSCS/Skill card (minimum).
Gold CSCS/Skill card preferred.
First aid qualified is preferred.
