Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading company in the energy from waste sector to recruit a Maintenance Manager for its site in Plymouth.
The Maintenance Manager role comes with a salary of £70,000 – £72,000, bonus, pension, and other benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Maintenance Manager Role

Reporting to the Facility Manager, you will:

1. Lead the maintenance department, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
2. Develop and manage the maintenance budget.
3. Oversee all procurement activities for the department.
4. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
5. Produce reports in line with company and contractual requirements.
6. Take responsibility for the maintenance of high-pressure steam raising plant.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

1. An apprentice-trained engineering background, qualified to HND level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
2. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control engineering.
3. Familiarity with welding techniques and Quality Assurance processes.
4. Experience managing a planned maintenance system and budget.
5. Knowledge of current health & safety regulations (minimum IOSH Managing Safely), CDM, and pressure systems regulations.
6. Proven experience in a supervisory maintenance role within a process industry, ideally involving high-pressure steam systems.
