£62,000 plus car allowance, bonus, pension at 7.5%, life assurance x 5 salary

We are looking for a proactive Maintenance Manager to lead and manage a team of engineers to drive the team into proactiveness from reactiveness. We need someone that can support and develop/mentor the supervisor whilst coaching and guiding the whole team. The role is based between office and production.

Duties for the Maintenance Manager

1. Overseeing building and equipment maintenance.
2. Managing maintenance staff and contractors.
3. Creating and implementing maintenance schedules.
4. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and in accordance with current legislation including MAPP (Major Accident Prevention Policy).
5. Budgeting for repairs and upgrades.
6. Responding to emergency maintenance issues.
7. Ensure that all maintenance engineers are qualified & trained to fulfill all designated tasks.
8. Maintain the site according to COMAH & EA directives following the MAPP process.
9. Ensure that the Permit to Work system is implemented & maintained at all times to assist with the control of on-site contractors in accordance with standard operating procedures.
10. Determines material, equipment, spares/critical spares & consumables to be used for repairs/service/breakdowns. Transfers equipment and personnel from repairs/service/breakdowns to another as required.

Personal skills and experience required for the Maintenance Manager role

1. Minimum 5 years' experience in a departmental supervisory position.
2. Relevant experience in electrical/mechanical engineering/maintenance & repair role.
3. Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees and vendors/contractors/directors.
4. Be familiar with COMAH, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO45001.
5. Use and knowledge of ERP management system, & all other pertinent legislative governmental systems.
6. Hands-on approach.
7. Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions.
