Main purpose and scope for the role:

· The Maintenance Assistant will provide support in all maintenance programs. They will ensure that all maintenance objectives are conducted in a respectful and responsible way, ensuring that all decisions and actions comply with the relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

· The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for helping to support the maintenance and safe operation of the electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other facility-related systems.

Other responsibilities of the role:

1. Supports and assists with emergency and planned maintenance repairs and coordinates repairs to buildings and property infrastructure.
2. Assists in the regular maintenance of the electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other related systems as directed.
3. Assists with landscaping and grounds maintenance.
4. Assists with the safe operation of boilers, heating, and ventilation systems.
5. Assists with maintenance and repairs of finishing, ceilings, flooring, and roofing.
6. Assists with maintenance and repairs to appliances and plant equipment.
7. Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.
8. Helps to identify areas of improvement and suggest solutions with cost analysis.
9. Reports malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components.
10. Reviews work orders to ensure proper documentation.
