Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager looking for your next opportunity? A leading engineering company that maintains the largest onshore natural gas storage asset in the UK is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their Engineering & Maintenance team in Northwich.

Reporting to senior management, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing the maintenance strategy to ensure operational excellence. You will lead a multi-discipline team, focusing on optimising performance, meeting KPIs, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The Maintenance Manager role involves close collaboration with key stakeholders, overseeing major plant outages, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of maintenance.

Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Manager

  • Develop and manage the overall maintenance strategy, aligning it with operational goals and best industry practices.
  • Lead and mentor a skilled multi-discipline maintenance team, ensuring the effective planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities to achieve high levels of commercial availability.
  • Ensure the preventive maintenance program is continuously improved and effectively implemented to meet performance targets.
  • Plan and execute major plant outages, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain key performance metrics, aiming to exceed 90% for corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Liaise with regulators and key stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective communication.
  • Identify, propose, and manage CAPEX projects to improve plant performance and drive innovation in maintenance processes.
  • Implement change management strategies and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in the oil and gas, chemicals, power, or process industries.
  • Strong background in maintenance management within a major accident hazard environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering discipline (essential).
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong expertise in maintenance strategy development and execution, as well as a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements within a COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) setting.
  • Experience with emergency response protocols.
  • Candidates must be willing to participate in a 1-week-in-4 Duty Manager rota and must live within a 1 hour commute of Northwich.
