CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer (shift) to join the team located in Cambridge where they will be working alongside one of our major Global Life Science Client’s AstraZeneca.

Role Purpose

To ensure all environmental conditions are maintained at all times with regard to critical building systems. To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works to all mechanical and electrical systems within the site. Engineers must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of UPS, Generators, HV, PDU’s, HVAC Systems, Crac units or equivalent, which will include the ability to fault find using the production of graphical information and the utilisation of current alarm data.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure that planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance is carried out to all client assets through operation of planned preventative maintenance systems and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. These reactive calls to also include concessionary stores and fabric related items.
2. Ensure that accurate and comprehensive records are kept pertaining to Health & Safety, Building Compliance and Quality Assurance.
3. Ensure that sub-contractors perform to meet the requirement of the contract. Administer sub-contractor work approvals and safe operation while repair or service is carried out on site.
4. To operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with CBRE Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements (or approved client system).
5. Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.
6. Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
7. Overview the buildings environmental conditions using the BMS System and utilise same to maintain acceptable internal conditions.
8. Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
9. Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared, reviewed and utilised for all tasks (PPM’s and reactive) carried out to ensure safe working practices.
10. To maintain & develop good client relationships.
11. Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times.
12. Ensure a professional image of CBRE is presented to clients and visitors.
13. Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
14. Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by local management.
15. Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI’s/SLA’s.
16. Ensure the Computer Based Maintenance system, e.g. SAP, Concept, etc is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
17. Ensure up to date shift logs are kept at all times.
18. Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of CBRE are locked at all times and are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
19. To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
20. To remain on site until relieved by incoming shift, or as otherwise agreed by the account management team.
21. To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.
22. To ensure tasks as directed are completed with the appropriate H&S awareness/implementation.

Accountabilities

1. Accountable to Shift Team Leader and the accounts management team.
2. The post holder does not have any directly reporting staff.

Requirements

Education

A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English and basic Mathematical skills.

Training

1. Formally trained in Mechanical/Electrical/Refrigeration Building Services maintenance, at apprentice level.
2. Recognised Health and Safety qualification, such as IOSH.
3. Basic skills on Building Management Systems an advantage.

Experience:

Essential

1. Experience of maintaining tight humidity & temperature control conditioned environments.
2. Experience of maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical equipment to clearly defined criteria.
3. Working knowledge of building services systems/ maintenance schedules.

Desirable

1. Experience of working in a scientific environment.
2. Good all round knowledge of general building works, diagnostic and repair procedures.

1. Good verbal communication skills.
2. Good written English skills.
