Job description

My client, a manufacturing company in Redditch, is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer on a temp to PERM or permanent basis depending on the right candidate's availability to take up the position.


The main focus of the role will be to support the Factory Manager in ensuring all machinery, equipment, and facilities run at maximum capacity.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Full responsibility for all the regular scheduled PPM for all the plant and equipment.
  2. Reacting quickly and proactively to breakdown situations including out of hours if required (premium rate then applies).
  3. General site maintenance and upkeep of factory buildings.
  4. Organising external contractor visits and supervision on site.
  5. Stock-checking & ensuring re-order and sometimes collection of consumables.
  6. Includes weekend working (circa 4hrs pw or bi-weekly at premium rate).

Requirements:
  1. Background in a manufacturing production environment or engineering with good fault-finding skills and mechanical bias.
  2. PPM & reactive experience.
  3. Ideally proficient in all tasks of replacing sensors, motors, pumps & inverters, stripping pumps, gearboxes, replacing drives & bearings.
  4. Experienced in basics of site maintenance i.e. simple plumbing, painting, mending and fixing.
  5. Willing and able to work regularly at weekends, usually Saturday mornings (premium rate applies) and work overtime if required during the week.
  6. Able to respond quickly to out of hours break-downs.

This position is based on a 40 hour a week, Monday-Friday day-shift contract with overtime required to cover breakdowns at weekends. The pay rate on offer is up to £17 an hour.
