Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer - Bradford

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - 09:00 to 17:00 (no shift work)

Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 (DOE)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Benefits: 25 days holiday + bank holidays

POST- Recruitment Ltd is hiring for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a rapidly growing manufacturing business in Bradford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer with electrical expertise to take ownership of machine reliability, breakdown response, and continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities - What You'll Be Doing

  1. Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance: Carry out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a variety of production machinery.
  2. Breakdown Support: Quickly diagnose and repair electrical faults and mechanical failures to minimize downtime.
  3. Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Use your electrical expertise to troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated equipment.
  4. Process & Efficiency Improvements: Work with the production team to optimize machine performance and reduce waste.
  5. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to 18th Edition Electricity at Work regulations and PUWER standards.
  6. Parts & Inventory Management: Manage spare parts stock to prevent downtime and maintain smooth operations.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) in a manufacturing or industrial setting, ideally in plastics, packaging, or similar industries.
  2. Strong electrical fault-finding skills, with knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
  3. Formal Electrical Engineering qualification (Level 3 minimum).
  4. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations knowledge is highly desirable.
  5. Experience with PPM systems (e.g., Holistech) and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  6. Solid Health & Safety awareness, ensuring safe working practices at all times.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):

  1. Experience in PET sheet production, ancillary equipment, or granulation systems.
  2. Basic IT skills for logging maintenance work and reporting faults.
