Job description

Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a leading manufacturer of high-tech products used in a wide range of industries. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Engineer to join the team. This role offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your technical skills and problem-solving abilities will be highly valued.

Salary: £40,500 - £47,250

Hours: 4 on 4 off continental shift (2 days, 2 nights)

Location: Towcester

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine preventative maintenance on associated equipment, minimising downtime and process interruption.
  2. Assist in exhaust filter and system changes, as well as gas cylinder replacements.
  3. Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) - training provided.
  4. Manage chemicals, gases, and spare parts, including deliveries, waste management, and chemical fills.
  5. Assist in the repair and maintenance of processing and ancillary equipment.
  6. Support Engineers with project work and take ownership of projects when qualified.
  7. Carry out a variety of duties independently following documented procedures.
  8. Assist with logistical tasks, such as equipment relocation and cleanroom reorganisation.
  9. Promote teamwork and collaboration across all areas.

Requirements & Competencies:
  1. Previous experience in Maintenance or Engineering roles, preferably in a high-tech / high precision industry.
  2. Knowledge of pneumatic, gas, vacuum, electro-mechanical, and automation systems.
  3. Basic understanding of electrical safety.
  4. Willingness to work overtime during shutdowns/major maintenance.
  5. Good communication skills - fluency in written and spoken English.
  6. Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
