Maintenance Engineer - £35,000 to £40,000 - Mildenhall, Suffolk


A well-established tube and sheet metal manufacturer in Mildenhall, Suffolk, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability and efficiency of its production equipment. This hands-on role involves maintaining and repairing machinery, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and implementing process improvements to minimise downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background and a proactive approach to maintaining a smooth-running manufacturing environment.


What's the pay & hours?


£35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)


Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00

What will you be doing?

  1. Identifying inefficiencies and implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce costs
  2. Performing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure equipment reliability
  3. Supporting the business in its transition to robotic automation
  4. Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues to implement effective solutions
  5. Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, upgrades, and process improvements
  6. Collaborating with production, NPI, and engineering teams to drive operational efficiency
  7. Training team members on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols

Who are we looking for?

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  2. Proven experience in manufacturing, process improvement, or operations
  3. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  4. Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and other improvement methodologies
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  6. Strong communication and teamwork skills
