Maintenance Engineer

East London (E16)

Monday-Friday Days (7am-3pm)

£48,000 + Overtime

Company Overview:

Our client is an established food manufacturer, part of a larger global group, with multiple sites worldwide. Due to growth & CI Projects at the site, they are looking for a new maintenance engineer to join their processing & manufacturing team.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Carry out planned, reactive maintenance and safety checks on all industrial process & production equipment, conveyors, mixers, centrifuges, bucket elevators, belts, chains, rotating equipment, PLC's
2. Electrical & mechanical fault finding, repairs, stripdowns & overhauls
3. Working on motors, pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, drives, bearings, shafts, actuators, hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment
4. Improving plant availability, reliability and continuous improvement work
5. Monitor contractors on site, ordering spares & parts

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

1. Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - ideally mechanical biased
2. MUST have completed a recognised apprenticeship
3. Electrical & mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills
4. Previously have dealt with industrial processing & equipment and manufacturing systems
5. Must have worked in an industrial manufacturing sector
6. Knowledge of electrical safety isolation procedures would be beneficial
7. Must have worked on motors, pumps, valves, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes
8. Experience of using SAP would be beneficial
9. Advantageous if worked with PLC systems
10. Any experience of working in an ATEX / CompEX environment would be great
