Overview - The Maintenance Engineer plays a vital role in our food manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our production equipment. You'll manage our PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) system, maintain facility infrastructure, and minimize production downtime. Working with state-of-the-art equipment, you'll document maintenance activities in our digital system and support site security procedures. Full training provided for our specific systems and processes.

What the day job looks like:

In this full-time role as a Maintenance Engineer, working alongside the Engineering team, you will be responsible for:

  1. Execute preventive maintenance programs to meet KPIs and annual targets
  2. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment
  3. Support and mentor Junior Engineers
  4. Maintain detailed maintenance records
  5. Follow and improve company procedures and safety protocols
  6. Communicate effectively with the engineering team and production staff
  7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  8. Deliver excellent service to internal customers
  9. Implement GOLD standard operations using Six Sigma, 5S, and LEAN principles

This role will suit you if:

  1. You have proven experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance within FMCG manufacturing
  2. You're electrically biased with strong understanding of industrial systems
  3. You're skilled in pneumatics, schematics reading, and advanced fault finding
  4. You communicate clearly and professionally
  5. You're comfortable with digital systems and Microsoft Office
  6. You're passionate about continuous learning and development
  7. You can work independently while being a strong team player
  8. You have experience with food manufacturing equipment (preferred)

This role may not be for you if:

  1. You prefer working without the need for strict adherence to company procedures and policies, including Health & Safety and Food Safety protocols.
  2. You are uncomfortable with a hands-on approach or working independently when required.
  3. You struggle with time management, reliability, punctuality, or working effectively as part of a team.

Terms

  1. 40 hrs/week i.e. 06:00 - 14:30 & 14:00 - 22:30 Mon-Fri, some overtime and call out.
  2. Probationary period 3 months
  3. Annual salary review (our 'movers and shakers' are always rewarded)
  4. 10% KPI related bonus based around challenging but achievable tasks related to the role

You will need to be within easy commute to the office or willing to come to the office as this role is fully on-site.
