We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. Based in Ipswich, this role offers the opportunity for extensive travel, allowing you to earn an attractive salary with additional overtime on top of your basic pay.

Full training will be provided, ensuring you are well-equipped for both local and travel-based assignments. You will also have the opportunity to earn overtime for door-to-door travel, significantly boosting your earnings beyond the base salary.

You will be responsible for maintaining and servicing machinery, working with machine controls and PLC systems, and ensuring all equipment runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and service machinery to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  2. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues with machine controls and PLC systems.
  3. Perform maintenance and repairs on A.C. drive controls.
  4. Provide mechanical engineering expertise for machinery within the converting industry (prior experience is a bonus).
  5. Work independently and collaboratively to meet operational goals.
  6. Travel to different locations for project work, earning overtime for door-to-door travel.
  7. Participate in training programs to expand your skill set for both local and travel assignments.

Key Requirements & Skills:

  1. A strong background in both electrical and mechanical engineering is required (or a relevant degree).
  2. In-depth hands-on knowledge and experience with machine controls and PLC systems.
  3. Experience or knowledge of the converting industry is an advantage.
  4. Proven ability in machinery servicing, repairs, and overall mechanical engineering.
  5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  7. Willingness to travel and work across various locations with a flexible approach to assignments.

Other Requirements:

  1. Willingness to travel for work, with additional earnings for overtime during door-to-door travel.
  2. A proactive attitude toward continuous learning and skill development.
