Job description

A family-run production and distribution company, proud of its reputation for providing superior products, is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the running of the factory by resolving breakdowns, driving improvements, and delivering planned preventive and reactive maintenance. Established for over 50 years, this family business in the Colchester area has a purpose-built site with state-of-the-art factory, innovative technology, and machinery, ensuring the flexibility to meet their customers' requirements.

Duties:

• Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance to maximise reliability and performance of machines, minimising downtime.
• Ensure electrical and mechanical safety within the site.
• Complete fault-finding exercises and put preventive maintenance in place.
• Comply with food safety standards and controls, ensuring all work is carried out correctly and safely.
• Accurately complete all necessary documentation ensuring it is audit ready.

To be considered for this exciting Maintenance Engineer role, you will need the following experience:

• HND/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with pneumatics, conveyors, motors, and bearings.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering would be beneficial - Wiring (single and three phase).
• Experience working within a food environment.
