Maintenance Engineer

We are currently working with a National Manufacturing business to assist with the recruitment of Multi-skilled Engineers at their site close to Reading.

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing facilities. You will be responsible for performing preventative and reactive maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment to minimise downtime and optimise productivity.

This role will require you to work on a rotating Monday to Friday 3-shift pattern, including earlies, afters, and nights.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conducting routine maintenance checks and inspections on machinery and equipment to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
2. Responding promptly to breakdowns and malfunctions to minimise downtime and ensure continuous production.
3. Performing repairs and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
4. Collaborating with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and prioritise tasks effectively.
5. Utilising computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) to log work orders, record maintenance activities, and maintain accurate documentation.
6. Adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
2. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
3. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
4. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to maintenance.
5. Flexibility to work on a rotating 3-shift pattern, including earlies, afters, and nights.
6. Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ, HNC, HND) in engineering or a related field.
7. Experience working with PLCs and other automated systems would be advantageous.
