Job description

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER REQUIRED!! PERM POSITION!

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer to provide technical support and repairs for a variety of printing and finishing equipment at their East Kilbride site. The machines involved include Komori, Heidelberg, SHM Web presses, and Muller Martini systems, which are all well-known brands. Recent investment has resulted in MBM currently installing one of the most automated Binding lines in Europe. The web presses are in the process of being replaced with one machine ordered and a second to follow soon. We see this as the first steps on the way to upgrading the required machinery to take MBM to the next level. The selected candidate will work closely with the business to identify the next stage of investment to improve the services that we can provide to our customers.

This role requires a great deal of flexibility, and the successful candidate will work on a call-out basis over and above their normal working pattern to support business requirements.

Responsibilities will include:
  1. To ensure compliance with company safety systems and policies is driven across the site.
  2. To keep all machines in production by repair or organising appropriate contractors.
  3. To work on the Preventative maintenance schedule.
  4. To complete work off the EFACs Site Services log within the time frames allocated eg high, medium and low.
  5. To maintain a good standard of housekeeping throughout the department.
  6. To prioritise repairs for the needs of the business.
  7. To be competent in dealing with both electrical and mechanical issues.
  8. Ability to use power tooling and manufacturing machines ie lathe, mill.
  9. Problem solving and using a logical approach to repairs, projects.
  10. To be competent reading complex electrical schematics to enable fault finding.
  11. To constantly strive for improvement/development of existing and new equipment.
  12. Source parts using various resources and have a keen eye toward pricing/availability.
  13. Supervising a small team.
Ideally candidates should:
  1. Have experience of heavy machinery, ideally in Print/Finishing trade.
  2. Have electrical experience; Electrical Engineering qualified to HNC/HND Level.
  3. Have the ability to communicate well throughout the business.
  4. Be motivated, well organised, and be willing to work within a busy production environment.
  5. Have the ability to work under pressure.
