Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems throughout the building.
  2. Carry out electrical fault-finding, testing, and inspection on systems including lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and power distribution boards.
  3. Perform routine testing, including electrical inspection and condition reports (EICR) in line with current regulations.
  4. Repair or replace electrical components and wiring, ensuring full compliance with relevant standards.
  5. Ensure compliance with 18th Edition wiring regulations (BS 7671) and health & safety protocols.
  6. Conduct regular site inspections, record findings, and complete relevant compliance paperwork accurately.
  7. Support the wider engineering team and collaborate on wider building services tasks when required.
  8. Liaise with clients and stakeholders, providing excellent customer service and maintaining strong working relationships.
  9. Identify and suggest opportunities for energy savings and system improvements.

Key Requirements:

  1. Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations (City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent) - Essential.
  2. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification - Essential.
  3. Proven experience working as a Maintenance Electrician within commercial building environments.
  4. Strong experience in fault finding, testing, inspection, and electrical maintenance.
  5. Experience maintaining and repairing lighting systems, alarms, power distribution boards, emergency lighting, and control panels.
  6. Sound understanding of health & safety procedures, compliance regulations, and safe working practices.
  7. Good communication skills and professional, client-focused approach.
  8. Ability to work independently, under pressure, and as part of a team.
