Job description

Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias with Electrical Knowledge)

Location: Llantrisant

Salary: £40000

Shifts: Monday to Friday (6-2 / 2-10)

This opportunity is perfect for someone that looking to get off nights or wanting their weekends back...

I'm looking for a Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias and decent electrical knowledge (you know, someone who can wire a motor & dismantle a gearbox without Googling it). You'll be getting stuck into preventative maintenance, emergency breakdowns, installations, overhauls—you name it.

It's not a cushy desk job. You'll be on your feet, tool in hand, working across an FMCG production environment, keeping the plant running smoothly and safely. It's reactive, it's proactive, and it's never dull.

What you'll be doing:

  1. PPM and reactive maintenance across plant and site facilities
  2. Responding quickly to breakdowns (no standing around waiting for someone else to do it)
  3. Making sure equipment is fit for purpose and safe to use
  4. Getting involved with machine installs and moves
  5. Working on single and three-phase circuits
  6. Keeping things compliant and above board (BRC and H&S aren't just acronyms here)

What you'll need:

  1. Recognised Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship
  2. Multi-skilled - mechanical bias with solid electrical know-how (NVQ / City and Guilds Level 3)
  3. Experience in a food / FMCG production environment (bonus points for BRC knowledge)
  4. Happy to alternate between early and late shifts and cover call-outs when needed
  5. Health & Safety awareness and risk assessment confidence

If you like getting your hands dirty and your brain engaged, and you want to work somewhere that values keeping things running like clockwork, this one's for you.
